Get Involved
Civic pride is important to everyone. Whether you own a home or own a business; Whether you grew up in Dedham or have only lived here for a short time; Whether you want nicer neighborhoods to walk through or better playgrounds to play in, civic pride matters. It matters to everyone that we each take pride in our community. And whether you can volunteer your time, or give financial support to our mission, getting involved with Friends of Dedham Civic Pride is a great way to show that you care about where you and yours call home.
"As a founding member of Civic Pride, I have had the privilege to work with and come to know many of our great volunteers. There is no better reward than driving through town and seeing the many areas we have beautified and knowing that your actions have made a difference."
Martha Podolski,
Past President and Committee Member
"Each spring, the Civic Pride Committee joins student volunteers from Dedham High School to clean the grounds of the High School in preparation of the upcoming graduation ceremony. This event not only benefits the High School but the entire community while providing the students with required community service hours and an opportunity to show their "School Pride." With more than 250 bags of litter and yard waste collected each year the students get a true sense of what many hands can accomplish in a few hours."
Bob Crisp,
"School Pride Day" Coordinator

Contribute Financially:

Contributing money to Friends of Dedham Civic Pride is a great way to show your support of our mission, but it doesn't just help us, as an organization - it helps you. Better communities attract a better mix of businesses, increase home values, and build community values that have a ripple effect on attitudes and opinions within and toward Dedham. And that effect fosters improvement of roadways and other infrastructures, better schools, and other local services. Businesses gain valuable exposure to paying customers as good, locally engaged corporate citizens, and individual and family supporters are stewards of the community. Together our civic pride comes from an understanding that all of this matters for today, and for future generations.

Volunteer your Time:

We're always on the lookout for people willing to step up to make Dedham a better place to live. Volunteering your time is another great way to show your community pride, and is always welcome. It's also a great way to get to know your neighbors, to fulfill community service hours, or to get out there and have some fun!

We welcome any and all help that we can get to improve and broaden our mission. We currently have specific needs for:
